Oh, baby! During the Tuesday, March 19, episode of Strahan & Sara, Sara Haines made an exciting announcement: she’s having a baby boy! The beloved TV host shared the good news during the show with a little extra help from her cohost, Michael Strahan.
“Now I get to find out if I’m having a boy or a girl right here in front of America,” the 41-year-old said. Sara, who is expecting her third child with husband Max Shifrin, first tried to reveal her baby’s gender by cutting into a cake to see whether it was pink or blue inside. “It’s 2019, why are we still assigning blue and pink?” Sara asked.
Funny enough, Sara’s cake was neither color. Both hosts were stumped when the inside of the cake turned out to be green. “That’s not even a color that’s been arbitrarily or absurdly assigned to sex,” The View alum exclaimed to Michael, 47. “I don’t know what to do with this!”
After the cake debacle, Sara and the former NFL pro decided to see if the silly string would work. Unfortunately, the fibrous goo didn’t get Sara any closer to announcing her baby’s gender after the silly string sprayed out purple. Luckily for the award-winning journalist, Michael knew exactly who to call.
Next thing you know, Maury Povich appears on stage to help assist Sara with her highly anticipated gender reveal. “So, you’re preggers and you want to find out if Michael —,” the 80-year-old joked, suggesting Michael was the father. “This is serious,” he continued. “We’re going to have to do this the old fashioned way — my envelope.” All of a sudden, The Maury Povich Show star pulls out a blue card out of the envelope as blue confetti comes raining down on the expectant mom and her sweet helpers.
Earlier this year, the blonde beauty announced that she and her loving hubby were expanding their brood. Their future little son, who is expected to arrive around July, will become the little brother to the couple’s other kids, son Alec Richard, 3, and daughter Sandra Grace, 15 months.
Not long after sharing her exciting news with the world, the TV personality opened up about becoming a mom-of-three. “We just figured out our one-on-one defense and now we have to move to a zone,” Sara told People in early January. “Max and I are super excited while also being terrified! We are so grateful.”
Congratulations, Sara and Max!
