For starters, the 70-year-old star married actress LaTanya Richardson in 1980 and is a proud parent to the couple’s 36-year-old daughter, Zoe Jackson. The Hollywood Reporter even recently called Samuel “Hollywood’s most bankable star” — and he achieved that title with a lot much more than just hard work and determination.

“He genuinely loves to entertain people. It’s something he finds great pride in,” M. Night Shyamalan, who directed the actor in Glass, recently told the news outlet. “That’s his superpower.” In addition to Glass, Samuel already has more than five movies in the works and, in a past interview, the Oscar nominee admitted he’s really proud of his long career as an actor. “You know how many actors go through their careers and people can’t repeat one f–king line they ever had?” he’s said. “I’m a walking T-shirt. It’s better than not being known for anything.”
