Salma Hayek Gushes She’s ‘Proud for Every Single One of My 54 Years’ in Gorgeous Birthday Photo Shoot
Living her best life! Salma Hayek shared some beautiful photos of herself on vacation in honor of her 54th birthday on Wednesday, September 2.
“I am very grateful and proud for every single one of my 54 years,” the Frida star wrote in an Instagram caption of two photos of her in a gorgeous yellow dress. “Thank you for all the birthday wishes, especially to my fans who made a special account for my birthday. What a gift! @salmahappybirthday.”
Before she celebrated her milestone, the Ugly Betty star also shared a few gorgeous pics her friend took of her in a strapless black one-piece swimsuit and sheer coverup on Instagram. “Guess who’s turning 54 tomorrow?” Salma said on Tuesday, September 1. “By the way, this is not a throwback Thursday!”
Salma’s photos proved she’s aged gracefully over the years and the actress credits her good looks to not having any work done on her body. “I don’t believe in Botox, especially when [people] do it so young. They destroy themselves,” she previously told People about being au naturel. “They keep telling young girls, ‘Do it young, so you never get wrinkles.’ No, your face is going to fall. You’ll have to keep getting more and more and more each time. So if you’re going to do it, I recommend doing it as late as you can.”
Because she’s embraced her natural beauty, Salma doesn’t mind going makeup-free on Instagram every now and then. In fact, on August 20, she posted a stunning snap of her drinking coffee in a bikini. “Guapaaaa,” Eva Longoria commented on the pic with three flame emojis, which is a Spanish word for “beautiful.” Then, on August 16, the mom of one showed off her “Sunday vibes” when she posted a selfie of her lying by the pool.
Salma’s skin looked flawless in the snap, and she previously revealed her very surprising skincare tip in an August 2017 interview with The New York Times. “I never cleanse my skin in the morning. My grandmother taught me that at night your skin replenishes all the things you lost during the day,” she said. “Also, if I cleanse very well at night, why would it be dirty when I wake up?”
