At 67, Sally Field is happily single. And though she’s been “seeing” a few male friends over the years, she wouldn’t call it dating.

“It’s not that I don’t have any interest in dating,” shares the Oscar winner in a new interview. “I have friends I go out with, men friends. I don’t know if some of the men I see would consider them dates, but I don’t think so.”

The mother-of-three, who got divorced from second husband Alan Greisman in 1993, muses, “When you get to a certain age, you’re not dating. I’m not taking myself off the market – not that I’m on the market. I’m just alive.”

She is much more focused on her sons and career at the moment, raving, “This is the first time in my life I find myself standing in place going, ‘Now what? Wait a minute, you mean it’s up to me?’ Suddenly my life is open to possibilities.”

Right now, the actress is getting ready to promote her summer blockbuster, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. “I always say, ‘Can’t I be in this movie a little more?’” I just want to spend more time watching the young cast do what they do.”

When asked about her five-year plan and what she’s hoping to do next, Sally brushes that stuff off.

“A five-year plan assumes you have control over your life…so much of it is chance. I’m just trying to look at what’s important to me, and to let go of the things that are not of value,” she tells Ladies’ Home Journal.

“Right now, I’m looking at myself in the mirror and asking, ‘Who do I want to be when I grow up?’”
