Ryan Seacrest Shares Funny Throwback Photo With Kelly Ripa: ‘When Oversized Sunglasses Were a Trend’
A lovely duo! Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest love to goof around. The American Idol host shared a funny throwback photo of him wearing big sunglasses while standing next to Kelly, 49.
“Back when oversized sunglasses were a trend that I couldn’t pull off. #SunglassesDay,” Ryan, 45, adorably captioned the Instagram post on Saturday, June 27. After seeing the snap, one fan commented, “Cutest TV couple,” and another said, “It’s still in trend. Love it.”
Ever since the radio personality joined Live in 2017, he’s been having a blast with Kelly on-air. “I get to work with one of my very best friends,” the proud mom of three to kids, Michael Consuelos, 23, Lola Consuelos, 19, and Joaquin Consuelos, 17, previously gushed to People. “We have that connection backstage right before the show starts where it’s like, ‘I’ve got a story for you.’”
Ryan agreed. “What’s great about this show is that it is very relaxed,” he added. “It allows us to present a show that is accessible to the audience. We want them to feel like, even if they’ve never met us, they know us.”
The cohosts have maintained that connection while filming Live from two separate locations during the coronavirus pandemic. As Kelly quarantines with her family in the Caribbean and Ryan with his girlfriend, Shayna Taylor, in America, they’ve managed to make things work. The All My Children alum revealed she’s even been doing her own hair and makeup herself.
“I’m just a girl trying to put on a TV show through the computer!” Kelly said on the program in May while showing off her freshly dyed hair. “These little clips, and you can see I’ve sprayed them brown too, these little clips really like, hold the grey.”
The former actress also said her daughter has been a big help to her in quarantine. Since she was “running out of things to wear,” Kelly resorted to picking out items from Lola’s closet. “I’m now in my daughter’s clothes,” she laughed in April. “It’s gone there.”
But no matter what the Emmy winner does, Ryan will always think she looks amazing.
