Ryan Seacrest Falls Off Surfboard and Face Plants Into Ocean During Hawaii Trip With Vanna White

Ryan Seacrest fell on Wheel of Fortune … again! The game show host was sent face-planting into the ocean while shooting a video with Vanna White during a trip to Hawaii, and it’s not the first time he’s taken a tumble on the show.

The costars appeared in a promo for the show, as a trip to Hawaii will be given out as a prize for one lucky viewer this week. “Let’s play!” Vanna, 68, said to the camera while standing in the ocean. Ryan, 50, was wobbly on a surfboard in the background with his hands in the air before falling and landing flat in the ocean and making a huge splash in the process.

Vanna turned around to look at Ryan after he took the flop. “Oh!” she said.

The camera then cut to them hula dancing and spending time in the sand in front of the ocean. Ryan had a coconut drink in his hand as he lounged on a beach chair. In another clip, the American Idol host wore flippers and a pair of goggles as he dove into the ocean to snorkel. Let’s just say his dive wasn’t very graceful!

“Wheel Watchers, you can try all of these things and more if you win a @hiltonhawaiianvillage Hawaiian Vacation! Better enter so you can live it up on the beach like Ryan and Vanna!” the caption of the Instagram video said.

The duo also walked around town visiting some stores and threw a beach ball around at the beach. At the end of the video, Ryan carried several floaties while walking toward the ocean, as two guys with surfboards followed behind him. Vanna was lying on her stomach in the sand reading a book. “Vanna, we’re going in,” he told her.

“We had a blast enjoying the tropical paradise in Honolulu at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort,” Ryan said at the end of the video.

The clip was shared on Instagram, where many praised Ryan for showing off his playful side since taking over for Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak in September 2024.

“I love that Ryan is good with playing the goof. Some hard shoes to fill after Pat, but I think he’s doing great!” one fan commented on the post.

“Why does Ryan keep falling?” another asked.

“Hahaha Ryan. You keep cracking me up!!!” another person said.

“I love you two together on the show,” someone else wrote, while another person said, “Best host ever!”

The tumble came just days after Ryan fell hard during an episode of Wheel of Fortune where he attempted to chase a wheel of cheese in the spirit of the U.K.’s Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling Festival.

“Participants race down a hill, chasing a wheel of cheese, but in the end you get the cheese. So what could be better?” Ryan explained before Vanna rolled the wheel of cheese down the stage, and he took off running after it.

Ryan dove to get the cheese but ended up falling hard with a thud. Vanna was totally shocked by his tumble, but assured the audience that Ryan was OK. He then grabbed the wheel of cheese and stood up and walked back over to Vanna.
