Royal Ascot 2019: Kate, William and Other Royal Family Members

It’s Queen Elizabeth‘s favorite time of the year again — the Royal Ascot! The British monarch was accompanied by many royal family members — including Kate Middleton, Prince William, and more — during day one of the annual event that features “many of the world’s finest racehorses” who “compete for millions of pounds in prize money,” according to the official website.

On the morning of Tuesday, June 18, the 93-year-old queen stepped out alongside all four of her children and several grandchildren. The beloved royal family members celebrated the five-day event — which has been tradition since 1711 — inside the Royal Enclosure, which is an incredibly fancy, invitation-only section of the Ascot Racecourse.

Notably missing was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — who just welcomed their first child, son Archie Harrison, in early May — as well as Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip.

Queen Elizabeth

The beloved monarch looked happier than ever as she attended the royal races on Tuesday morning. Elizabeth stepped out for the annual event donning a gorgeous baby blue coat dress that she paired with a matching floral hat. She also tied her look together with a pair of white silk gloves, simple pearl earrings and her typical black loafers and matching purse.

Each year, the royal and the rest of her family members enter the prestigious event in a procession of horse-drawn carriages. The carriages make their way down the race track and into the parade ring, where they then enter the Royal Enclosure. So cool!

Kate Middleton and Prince William

The Duchess of Cambridge was all smiles as she attended the Royal Ascot alongside her handsome hubby. Kate, 37, looked absolutely breathtaking in a sky blue dress designed by Ellie Saab. She paired the ankle-length dress — which featured gorgeous details — with a matching blue hat.

According to the official website, the Royal Ascot dress code is very strict. “Dresses and skirts should be of modest length,” as well as “hats should be worn,” the site explained of the dress code, among many other rules.

Prince Charles

The Duke of Cambridge looked just as studly in his suit — which included a light blue dress shirt, gray vest, black dress pants, a long suit jacket and a black tie. William, 34, also wore a vibrant blue boutonniere on his blazer.

William’s father, Prince Charles, dressed similarly to his son. The Prince of Wales, 70, was all smiles while wearing a gray suit that featured a light blue dress shirt, gray suit jacket, matching dress pants and a pink tie.

This father-son duo dressed for the occasion, with both wearing the Ascot-required top hat that “is not permitted” to be customized, according to the Royal Ascot dress code for men.

Princess Beatrice

Princess Beatrice was glowing as she attended the annual horse races alongside her younger sister. The red-haired royal color-coordinated with Eugenie, 29, as she also wore a gorgeous blue gown that featured an intricate floral design. Beatrice, 30, paired the elegant look with a matching blue wide-brimmed hat. So pretty!

Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex

While nearly all the royal ladies opted for blue, Sophie, Countess of Wessex was one of the few who showed up to the royal outing in a different color. The blonde beauty wore a pink floral dress paired with a matching wide-brimmed hat.

Prince Edward looked ravishing in his suit that featured a light blue dress shirt, gray vest, black suit jacket and gray pants. The Earl of Wessex, 55, tied his look together with a unique tie.

The royal duo will celebrate their upcoming 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, June 19. Aww!
