Robin Williams’ Daughter, Zelda: “It Can Be Hard to Find Happiness When You’re Sad”

For Robin Williams‘ daughter, Zelda, the end of 2014 marks the close of one of the toughest years of her life.

So, to ring in new beginnings in 2015, Zelda — who lost her father in August from suicide — has jetted off to Sydney, Australia to celebrate New Year’s Eve with her boyfriend, actor Jackson Heywood.

During her trip Down Under, the 25-year-old took to her Twitter page to post a heartwrenching message to her more than 240,000 followers.

“It can be hard to find happiness when you’re sad, but it shouldn’t be to find kindness. Thank you to all those being kind this Christmas,” she wrote on Dec. 25.

“Also, as I’m a day in the future from you all & thus past Christmas myself, happy future post-Holiday sugar coma!” she added in a subsequent tweet.

In October, the young actor honored her late father with a touching tattoo of a hummingbird on her right hand above additional ink of Robin’s birthdate, “7.21.51.”

“For poppo. Thank you to the incomparable @drwoossc for so beautifully bringing my reminders to life. I’ll always put my hand out to shake with a smile,” she captioned the photo of her new tattoo on Instagram.

Zelda — whose mother is Robin’s second wife, Marsha Garces Williams — is the late actor and comedian’s only daughter. He is also father to two sons, Zak Williams, 31, and Cody Williams, 23.
