Robert Downey Jr. is a melted mess after his highly anticipated Broadway debut in McNeal turned into an unexpected disaster, multiple sources who are close to the 59-year-old box office heavyweight exclusively tell Closer.
One insider says he is struggling to cope with the flop, which has cast a shadow over his glittering career.
“Robert took a bold leap from dominating the silver screen to trying his luck on stage,” spills the insider. “But the brutal reviews have shattered him. He poured his heart into this project, only for it to bomb — it’s been a blow to his ego!”
Another source tells the minute this nightmare wraps up, “he won’t be stepping foot on a theater stage again!”
