Robert and his wife, Grace, in February 2013.
Soon after, Robert wrote a check to cover the full amount and had it hand-delivered by day’s end to government offices in NYC, his spokesman confirmed.
The original tax lien documents were allegedly filed against the 'Meet the Parents' star's multimillion-dollar Tribeca investment property on Feb. 3. The IRS reportedly first notified Robert of the unpaid taxes in 2013, but the notices were delivered to the wrong address.
The actor and his wife, Grace Hightower, live in one of NYC's priciest apartments located on Central Park West. Their rent is reportedly $125,000 per month.
