Richard Gere's ex-wife Carey Lowell is seeking more than $100 million of the actor's estimated $250 million fortune in their divorce, a new report states.
An insider explains Carey plans to argue that she deserves the large settlement — which is reportedly half of the actor's earnings since they got married in 2002 — from Richard because she "gave up her career" to raise their now 14-month-old son, Homer.
"They are not getting along and they are very far apart on how much money she will get in their divorce," a source said of the couple.

Despite the claims, Carey's lawyer insists it is still too early in the divorce proceedings to discuss finances, but did confirm his client would be seeking her "fair share" from the 'Pretty Woman' star.
The 65-year-old star and his second wife wed in 2002 and split in November 2013 after 11 years of marriage. Nearly one year after their separation, the former model, 53, filed for divorce from Richard in June 2014.
Before marrying Carey, Richard was hitched to supermodel Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995. Carey had been married twice before and is mom to daughter Hannah, 24. Since the couple's split, the actor has been linked to celebrity chef Padma Lakshmi.
