Queen Elizabeth Takes Public Train From London To Her Sandringham Estate To Begin Christmas Break — See The Pics!

Not even the Queen of England is above taking public transportation! On Thursday, Dec. 20, Queen Elizabeth, 92, was photographed catching a scheduled train from London’s King’s Cross Station to Norfolk, England where her famed Sandringham Estate is located. The journey — she rode in the first-class car, of course! — marked the start of the monarch’s Christmas break as she typically leaves Buckingham Palace each December to spend most of the winter at her country home with her husband, Prince Philip, and their extended family.

The Queen’s trip to Sandringham comes just one day after she held her annual Christmas lunch for members of the monarchy at Buckingham Palace. Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle were just a few of the royals photographed leaving the lavish luncheon on Wednesday, Dec. 19. For the festive occasion, Kate looked gorgeous in a pink dress while pregnant Meghan, 37, opted for a patterned Erdem frock that she previously wore for a Today show appearance several years before she became a Duchess.
