It looks like Meghan Markle is getting a (sloppy!) kiss of approval from two very important members of the royal family. Queen Elizabeth‘s corgis aren’t just her pets — they’re a part of the family. Humorously, a part of the family that has never fully accepted Prince Harry.

“The corgis took to you straight away,” Harry teased in the newly engaged couple’s first-ever joint interview. “I’ve spent the last 33 years being barked at; this one walks in, absolutely nothing.” Aw, poor Harry! But, even Meghan admitted that she’s already formed a special bond with the Queen’s pups. “That’s true,” she added. “Just laying on my feet during tea, it was very sweet.”

It makes sense that the corgis warmed up to the American actress since she’s a dog-lover and proud dog-owner. The Suits star adopted two pets — a labrador-shepherd named Bogart and a beagle named Guy — years ago and is now in the process of bringing them across the pond with her.

“I have two dogs that I’ve had for quite a long time, both my rescue pups,” Megan added during the interview just hours after their engagement announcement. “One is now staying with very close friends and my other little guy is — yes he’s in the UK. He’s been here for a while.”

However, it’s not easy to get her dogs approve to live in the UK permanently. Us Weekly reported that they will “have to be microchipped, given a rabies vaccination, plus a blood test 30 days after the rabies vaccination to show it has worked,” in order to make the move. “The dogs will also have to be treated against tapeworm and provide paperwork for all of these vaccinations.”

We hope that Meghan is reunited with both of her dogs soon. And we’re sure they’ll fit in perfectly!
