Princess Eugenie Shares An Unseen Photo From The Day She Got Engaged To Jack Brooksbank — See The Pic!
Goodbye 2018, hello 2019! Along with millions of other Instagram users, Princess Eugenie recently took to social media to reminisce on the year she had. And while she was sifting through her memories, the 28-year-old shared an unseen photo from the day she got engaged to her now-husband, Jack Brooksbank. “As 2018 draws to a close I wanted to share some of my favorite moments,” Eugenie wrote in the caption.
In fact, considering the couple announced their plans to tie the knot in late January of last year, royal fans never knew the exact date of when Jack asked for Eugenie’s hand in marriage. However, Eugenie revealed the date in her post. “1st January 2018 — Jack asked me to marry him.” Take a look at the beautiful photo below!
The 33-year-old asked Eugenie to marry him while on vacation in Nicaragua after being introduced by friends in Switzerland in 2010. With the jaw-dropping sunset as his background, the Casamigos ambassador presented his princess with a pale pink padparadscha sapphire and diamond ring.
After news broke last year that Eugenie was set to tie the knot with her longtime boyfriend, she opened up to BBC about the magical day. “The lake was so beautiful. The light was just a special light I had never seen,” Eugenie recalled of her engagement. “I actually said, ‘This is an incredible moment,’ and then he popped the question, which was really surprising even though we had been together seven years. It was the perfect moment because we knew it was going to end up this way. I was over the moon, crying.”
But as they returned home from their vacation, it was time to plan. In fact, many women turn into Bridezillas as they plan their dream wedding, but for Eugenie, it was a walk in the park. A few months before she married Jack on Oct. 12, 2018, at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson revealed she was nothing but relaxed about walking down the aisle.
“I’m not stressed at all,” she dished to British Vogue. “It’s very nerve-wracking because you want it to be perfect but then you realize that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters.” So sweet!
