Royal-to-be Meghan Markle may have had to delete her Instagram account, but that hasn’t stopped another royal from officially joining the social media platform! Princess Eugenie created a verified account on Thursday, March 8 — International Women’s Day — and she had the best reasons for joining. Check out the video above to see her first post!

Within one day, the 27-year-old has already racked up 10,100 followers, and her first post, a video, has nearly 15,000 views. She’s only following 10 accounts so far, including her mother, Sarah Ferguson, the British royal family‘s official account, and Kensington Palace‘s official account. Also included are several charities and orthopedic-related hospitals, such as Elephant Family and the European School of Osteopathy.

The Princess of York is extremely passionate about bringing awareness to scoliosis, as she was diagnosed with the disorder at a young age. Her first Instagram post featured a video of herself speaking about her diagnosis and subsequent recovery. “When I was 12, I was diagnosed with and treated for scoliosis,” she said during the speech featured in her post, “and I have lived with two, 12-inch metal rods in my back. It could have impacted my life and stopped me from doing the things I love.”

Her older sister, Princess Beatrice, accompanied her on-stage, and Eugenie addressed the 29-year-old by saying, “You encouraged me not to get disheartened, not to give up. To live fearlessly. Today, I am so lucky to get to work with and support other young women who are going through the same thing — to encourage them to not let their diagnosis win. To live fearlessly, too. So, We Day, our first lesson is never give up.”

With Eugenie’s wedding date officially announced, we hope she’ll share some fun pics of her wedding planning on her Instagram account in the coming months. The princess is set to marry Jack Brooksbank on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, so there’ll be more royal wedding excitement even after Prince Harry and Meghan tie the knot. “The marriage of Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie to Mr. Jack Brooksbank will take place on 12th Oct. 2018. As previously announced, the wedding will take place at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle,” Eugenie’s father, Prince Andrew, wrote in a statement published to his official Twitter account on Friday, Feb. 2. So exciting!
