Princess Diana ‘Would’ve Had an Army’ of Kids, Her Former Assistant Reveals: ‘She Always Wanted a Girl’

Her life was cut short when she was tragically killed in a car accident in August 1997, but Princess Diana‘s former royal assistant, Paul Burrell, revealed new details that we never knew about the beloved beauty. While recently chatting with Closer Weekly, the former butler opened up about the late royal’s life as a mother to Prince William and Prince Harry — and how she wished she became the mom to a little girl.

“Princess Diana always wanted more children. She felt that two were not enough,” Paul, who was employed by the royal household for over two decades, exclusively shared with Closer. “She would’ve had an army of children running through the corridors of Kensington Palace. And of course, She always wanted a girl. Wouldn’t she have just adored Princess Charlotte?”

Diana’s former assistant — who also talked about his upcoming documentary titled Princess Diana’s ‘Wicked’ Stepmother — gushed that loving mom of two would’ve been an amazing grandmother to her sons’ children.

“I think Diana would be scooping up those grandbabies and squeezing them to death,” he said of Duchess Kate (née Middleton) and William’s kids, Prince George, 6, 4-year-old Charlotte and Prince Louis, 1, as well as Duchess Meghan (née Markle) and Harry’s 5-month-old son Baby Archie.

Although Diana isn’t around to love on her royal grandkiddos, Paul teased that both couples could be expanding their broods sooner than later. “It won’t be long before you hear that Meghan is having another baby,” the royal worker revealed. “I think that Meghan will have another baby soon: A) the clock is ticking, B) she wants these two children and C) have you noticed how she knots everything in the front of her belly? She tries to hide her tummy. Could she already be pregnant?”

Even though William and Kate, both 37, have their hands full as the parents of three crazy tots, Paul dished that he believes Kate will join her sister-in-law in having another royal baby. “There will be four babies for Kate and William,” he shared. “It wouldn’t surprise me if Kate and Meghan were pregnant at the same time next year.”

In a previous interview with In Touch, Paul opened up about Harry and William’s alleged royal rift. Despite the fact that Diana has been gone for over two decades, the royal butler offered an idea of what kind of advice the blonde beauty would have given to her sons.

“Diana would say to them, ‘Boys, you’re both my boys,'” he said. “‘I love you both equally, I love you both dearly. Sort it out.'” Perhaps more royal children would help mend the brothers’ royal rift!
