Princess Diana Thought Prince Charles Was ‘Not Fit’ To Be King, Her Butler Reveals

Ouch! It’s very known that Princess Diana and Prince Charles had a messy marriage, but the whole time they were together, the late royal allegedly always thought her husband was “not fit” to be the King of England someday.

“I don’t think we will ever see King Charles and Queen Camilla on the throne of England. I know it’s his right. I know he’s heir to the throne. I know he has waited his whole life, but his own wife said: ‘My husband is not fit for the top job,'” Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, 60, revealed, according to Daily Star.

He added, “I don’t think he will get there. I think the Queen will die aged 101, 102, or 103, maybe. Her mother was almost 102. Longevity is in the family. I think for the sake of the monarchy — by the time Charles gets there, he’s going to be 80.” Charles will celebrate his 70th birthday on Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Despite his late ex-wife’s alleged statement, it seems Charles has proven over the years just how much the monarchy means to him. In fact, he’s so busy all the time that he barely has time with his grandchildren — and his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, have noted that they want him to slow down.

“I would like him to have more time with the children,” William, 36, said in the new BBC One documentary, Prince, Son & Heir: Charles at 70, which aired on Nov. 8. “Having more time with him at home would be lovely, and being able to, you know, play around with the grandchildren. When he’s there, he’s brilliant, but we need him there as much as possible.”

Harry, 34, added, “This is a man who has dinner ridiculously late at night, and then goes to his desk later that night and will fall asleep on his notes to the point where he’ll wake up with a piece of paper stuck to his face. The man never stops. When we were kids, there were bags and bags and bags of work that the office just sent to him. We could barely even get to his desk to say goodnight to him.” He sounds like a dedicated future king to us!
