Someone looks eager to learn! Princess Charlotte was all smiles as she strolled along to her first day of school on Thursday, September 5. The 4-year-old royal, who will be attending classes at Thomas’s Battersea School in London, walked hand-in-hand with mom Kate Middleton as they arrived alongside dad Prince William and brother Prince George.

Although she had the support of her family, Charlotte appeared to be slightly timid. The adorable youngster was seen nervously twirling her ponytail as well as occasionally hiding behind Kate, 37, as she made their way to the prestigious private school.

A United Front

Charlotte looked all ready for her first day of school as she was escorted by her royal parents. The little girl — who was previously enrolled in classes at The Willcocks Nursery School in South Kensington — will officially be attending the same insinuation as her older brother, 6-year-old George!

Dressed for Success

Charlotte looked adorable as always in the school’s navy blue and red uniform. The required outfit included a knee-length skirt, as well as a white button-up shirt with a sweater over top. She also wore her hair up in a ponytail and completed her school ensemble with a pair of long socks and strappy, black clogs.

Ruffled Royal

Although she was beaming with joy, Charlotte looked extremely timid and nervous at times for her first day of school. Look how cute she looks hiding behind a protective Kate!

Time for Class

Once arriving at St. Thomas’s Battersea — which costs around $23,000 per year — Kate, William, 37, and their two kids were greeted by the head of the lower school, Helen Haslem. Charlotte can be seen giving Helen a sweet handshake before heading inside.

Big Brother to the Rescue

Although anyone’s first day of school can be nerve-wracking, Charlotte is lucky enough to have George — who first started attending Thomas’s Battersea in 2017 — by her side. “She can’t wait to be with George at big school,” an royal insider recently shared with People. “She is so excited about it all.” Aww!

Wishing Charlotte Luck

We have no doubt Charlotte will excel throughout her time at the famous private school, considering she was “very popular” and “very passionate” at The Willcocks Nursery School. “She has a strong personality and is the kind of little girl who knows what she wants and doesn’t let anything get in her way,” the source previously revealed to Closer Weekly. “Charlotte is outgoing and oozes confidence.”
