What a bash! Princess Charlotte recently turned 4, and according to her dad, Prince William, she had quite the party!

The Duke of Cambridge, 36, told children’s author Julia Donaldson that his daughter would be having a “rowdy party with lots of friends,” according to ITV news. In honor of their child’s birthday, William and his wife, Kate Middleton, shared three royal portraits of her to Kensington Palace‘s official Instagram account on Wednesday, May 1.

“Happy Birthday Princess Charlotte! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share three new photographs of Princess Charlotte ahead of her fourth birthday,” the post read. “The photographs were taken in April by The Duchess at Kensington Palace and at their home in Norfolk.”

While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are busy waiting for their first child to enter the world, the pair still took time to send the little girl a sweet message on her day of celebration.

“Happy Birthday Charlotte!” they commented on a photo. “Lots of love, H and M xo.” But the former actress, 37, and her husband, 34, weren’t the only ones to send little Charlotte well wishes on her special day — her big brother, Prince George, even remembered too!

“George made Charlotte a birthday card at school and signed it himself, with the help of his teachers!” a source exclusively told Closer Weekly. “He’s such a thoughtful little boy and spent hours trying to choose a gift for his little sister and couldn’t decide between a book and a huge stuffed bear so Kate ended up buying both!” What a brother!

We are sure that Charlotte will return the favor, as George’s birthday is right around the corner (July 22). As for Charlotte and her wonderful day, we are happy to hear she spent it having fun with her friends and family!
