Everyone knows that Kate Middleton is famous for rewearing her favorite ensembles, but Princess Anne might have just taken the crown as the most thrifty royal ever. When Queen Elizabeth‘s 67-year-old daughter stepped out in London earlier this week to attend the Commonwealth Day church service at Westminster Abbey, eagle-eyed royal fans knew something about her chic coat dress looked familiar. Well, it turns out that Anne recycled the outfit — and first wore it nearly 40 years ago!

According to Majesty Magazine‘s Managing Editor Joe Little, Anne was first photographed wearing the cream and navy ensemble to the Royal Ascot in June 1980 and again at the Epsom Derby in June 1985. Interestingly, Anne has accessorized the outfit the same way over the years with pretty hats, navy gloves, gold brooches, and matching pumps.

Many fans were quick to praise Anne online for bringing back the decades-old dress coat for Commonwealth Day on Monday, March 12. “Cudos to the princess on it still fitting,” one person wrote with another similarly adding, “Amazing she can still fit into it, awesome that she is frugal and thrifty, [and] she looks good in it, so why not!?”

Following Anne’s outing, People pointed out that this wasn’t the first time the Princess Royal has repeated a famous look. Back in 2015, Anne rewore a 35-year-old blouse and coat that she was previously photographed donning on the Buckingham Palace balcony in 1980. So cool!
