If you think that Prince William will be the godfather to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s royal baby then think again! As the duchess’ due date slowly approaches, fans can’t help but wonder who will be the godparents to her child, and according to royal tradition it won’t be the Duke or Duchess of Cambridge.

Since the Duke of Sussex, 34, isn’t a godfather to any of William’s, 36, children, the chances that Kate Middleton‘s husband will take on that role in baby Sussex’s life is slim to none. But like Harry, William likely won’t shy away from his loving duties as a hands-on uncle at home.

When Prince George was being christened back in October 2013, royal correspondent Robert Jobson, said that Harry didn’t need to be a godfather to baby George because he “will have a role in [the baby’s] life anyway.”

Since William and Kate, 37, apparently won’t be godparents to the royal baby, the former actress, 37, can still choose one of her close friends to hold the title. After her BFF Jessica Mulroney reportedly threw her a $200,000 baby shower in New York City — with the help of Serena Williams — she might have a good chance at being baby Sussex’s godmother.

Meghan’s baby shower was so glamorous that it was a two-day event. She apparently had hundreds of pink, yellow and orange flowers delivered to The Mark hotel, which led many to believe that she might be having a girl.

“The flowers were spring colors in pretty pastel shades,” a source recently told E! News. “There were pink roses and cherry blossom vines. There were tons of flowers delivered before the shower started in an unmarked van. There was also a large flat cardboard box that appeared to be a convertible crib.” Jessica looks like she has a great chance at being baby Sussex’s godmother!
