Prince William is quite the hero!

The Duke of Cambridge appeared on this month’s cover of British publication Attitude, making him the first royal to ever pose for an LGBT magazine.

“No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason and no one should have to put up with the kind of hate that these young people have endured in their lives,” William, 34, said in a statement after meeting with nine people who have dealt with homophobic bullying.

“The young gay, lesbian and transgender individuals I met through Attitude are truly brave to speak out and to give hope to people who are going through terrible bullying right now,” he added.

The release of William’s cover comes days after a mass shooting took place at an Orlando, Fla. gay nightclub. Following the tragedy, the father-of-two and his wife, Kate Middleton, paid an emotional tribute to the victims of the attack in London on Tuesday, June 14.
