How sweet! Kate Middleton has spoken out for the second time about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s royal engagement following the news on Monday, Nov. 27. “[Prince William] and I are absolutely thrilled. It’s such exciting news. It’s a really happy time for any couple and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment,” the 35-year-old Duchess of Cambridge told reporters at an event on Tuesday, Nov. 28, according to People.

Earlier this week, William, also 35, and Kate sent their well wishes to Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said of the engagement: ‘We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together,'” a message published on the official @KensingtonRoyal Twitter account read.

Meghan’s parents, Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle, also released statements regarding the announcement. “We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together,” the divorced couple said in a statement released by Clarence House. Harry’s father, Prince Charles, similarly told reporters he’s “thrilled” about his son’s engagement. “They’ll be very happy indeed,” he said.

British Prime Minister Theresa May also sent her regards to Harry, 33, and his stunning fiancée, Meghan, 36. “I would like to offer my very warmest congratulations to HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle upon their engagement. This is a time of huge celebration and excitement for two people in love and, on behalf of myself, the Government and the country, I wish them great happiness for the future,” a 10 Downing Street statement read.

In the hours following Harry and Meghan’s exciting engagement news, the pair sat down for their first official interview with BBC’s Mishal Husain. “[The proposal] happened a few weeks ago, earlier this month, here at our [Kensington Palace] cottage; just a standard typical night for us. Roasting a chicken… trying to roast a chicken,” Harry said. “She didn’t even let me finish, she said, ‘Can I say yes, can I say yes?’ and then there was hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like, ‘Can I give you the ring?’ She goes, ‘Oh yes the ring!’ It was a really nice moment, it was just the two of us and I think managed to catch — catch her by surprise as well.” Meghan added, “Yes, it was just a cozy night… I could barely let you finish proposing.” Congratulations, you two!
