As royals, Prince William and Kate Middleton have probably tried so many exquisite foods that it would be hard for them to pick their favorite. But on a recent trip to Japan, Now to Love reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were gifted a Bento Box — and William adorably revealed that their favorite food is actually from Japan!

The Bento Box was given to them by a highly acclaimed chef named Akira, and once the royal couple tasted the seafood, they said it was “very impressive.” William added, “Thank you very much. My wife and I love sushi. We might have to come down here for lunch when no one else is in.”

According to Now to Love, even though William and Kate love sushi, royals aren’t allowed to eat shellfish because there’s a greater risk of them getting food poisoning. So interesting!

When Kate and William aren’t eating sushi or any of their other favorite delicacies at Kensington Palace, they normally order out. The couple previously stopped by for a quick interview with BBC Radio 1 and noted that they like to order one particular spicy food that fills their appetite. “Curry,” Kate once shared is their favorite fast food choice. She also mentioned how much of a struggle it is for her family to order out since they live at the Palace, so they would normally send someone out to buy their food.

But even though Kate has been busy being a royal since April 2011, she still finds time to cook. “William has to put up with my cooking most of the time,” she jokingly said at a previous royal event. “It’s the reason I’m so skinny,” he added. Kate might not be confident in her cooking skills, but at least she can rely on her new sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, to help her out in the kitchen. They could probably make the most amazing dishes together!
