It looks like Prince William has been practicing his dad jokes! While paying a visit to Blackpool on the northwest coast of England on Tuesday, March 5, the Duke of Cambridge and his wife, Kate Middleton, stopped to chat with royal fans at a family-friendly playground in a local park.

Talking about parenthood, one resident involved in a group called “Dads 4 Life” got to share a laugh with the regal couple after he told the 36-year-old prince that he learned how to style his little daughter’s hair after watching YouTube tutorials. “Never try to do a ponytail!” William quipped, according to People. “Nightmare.”

In response to her husband’s joke, Kate teased, “Have you tried to do a [braid]? It’s the weaving … really hard.” Adding to the laughter, William joked that he “can do [Princess Charlotte’s] ponytail, but that’s about it as I don’t have enough hair to practice on!” Ha!

Kate, 37, proved that she has awesome hair-braiding skills after the mom-of-three participated in a makeup demonstration and storyboard masterclass with children from Malvern Primary School while recently visiting Northern Ireland on a brief royal tour. During the demonstration, the brunette beauty got a chance to show off how well she braids when one lucky youngster was chosen to be her hair model for a few minutes.

Perhaps Kate could’ve shown William a thing or two about braiding when they recently took a week off in February to spend some quality time with their kids. Since Prince George, 5, and 3-year-old Charlotte’s schools were closed for a half-term break at the time, the duke and duchess figured that taking a quick hiatus from royal engagements would be good for their family.

Though Kate and William stayed pretty low-key during their time off, the royal pair did attend a party in honor of the 50th anniversary of Prince Charles’ investiture as the Prince of Wales and his half-century of service to the United Kingdom. Held at Buckingham Palace earlier this week, Kate and William spent the day with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, which marked their first public appearance as a foursome since December 2018.
