Congratulations are in order for Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are celebrating their 8th wedding anniversary! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are ringing in the milestone after tying the knot on April 29, 2011, in a lavish royal wedding at Westminster Abbey in London.

For the special day, Kensington Palace took to Instagram to share a number of throwbacks from the royal wedding. “Eight years ago today — thank you for your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!” Kensington Palace captioned the photo collage of sweet snapshots from the royal wedding day.

Fans of the duke and duchess — who are the parents of Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 12 months — couldn’t wait to send their best wishes to Kate and Will on their joyous day. “Happy 8th Anniversary, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! I remember staying up to watch it. Wishing many more years of happiness together and your adorable children,” one fan wrote in the comment section of Kensington Palace’s post. “Eight years and three babies after! What an amazing royal couple!” gushed another.

Kate and Will Graduate From St Andrew’s University — June 23, 2005

Look how cute! The young lovebirds looked happier than ever as they graduated from St Andrews University in Scotland together in 2005. The couple —who both studied Art History — are rumored to have met at the college, but royal correspondent Katie Nicholl once said otherwise. “She didn’t meet him at St. Andrews. She met him before she got there… through some of her friends,” she claimed in her book Kate: The Future Queen. “They knew Prince William and Prince Harry.”

The loving couple sweetly posed for pics at the State Apartments of St James Palace after the Clarence House announced Kate and William’s engagement. At the time, William got down on one knee and asked for his lady’s hand in marriage during a holiday in Kenya after having been together for eight years — wow!
