Many members of the royal family gathered for Princess Eugenie‘s royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank on Friday, Oct. 12, but someone very special was missing from the special event: Prince Louis! So, why did Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s five-month-old baby son miss the nuptials? Simply because he’s too young!

While Will and Kate’s two older kids, Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3, served as a Page Boy and Bridesmaid, respectively, in the couple’s bridal party, Louis stayed home with the royal family’s trusted staff members, specifically their beloved nanny, Maria Turrion Borrallo, just like he did for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s wedding in May.

We bet the royal couple missed their little boy so much while they were gone, but we must say, they probably enjoyed seeing how cute George and Charlotte looked in their outfits for the wedding! Sadly for us royal fans, we haven’t gotten a chance to see Prince Louis since his royal christening at the beginning of July.

“Louis has changed a lot since the last photos of him. He’s still very chubby but he’s grown fast and has a lovely head of hair on him,” a royals insider recently revealed to Us Weekly. ” He’s very quiet and content, always smiling and happy.” How cute?!

It was previously exclusively revealed to Closer Weekly that Kate and William have been “smitten” with their bundle of joy since day one. “William and Kate have never been happier,” the insider shared, adding that Queen Elizabeth also loves her great-grandson. “The Queen doesn’t usually get emotional, but as soon as she held the baby her eyes welled up with tears of happiness.”

And they’re not the only ones. George and Charlotte are also loving being a big brother and sister. “They’re both thrilled to have a new brother. They love cuddling him,” the insider noted. We’re sure they missed him so much at the wedding!
