Could a royal wedding be a good excuse to let go of all responsibilities? Fans and UK residents are curious to know if the day of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s nuptials will be a bank holiday now that the date has been officially released. But so it turns out, it doesn’t matter because they’re choosing to get married on a Saturday!

Mark your calendars because May 19 is the day the newly-engaged couple will tie the knot. Meghan and Harry are seemingly breaking tradition with this decision, as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip married on a Thursday and Prince William and Kate Middleton married on a Friday. But, since the duo chose a weekend, there’s no need to address the bank holiday issue.

British prime minister Theresa May had already ruled out the idea of a bank holiday before the date was announced. Her spokesman said there was “no precedent,” and he even noted how Prince Andrew and Prince Edward didn’t get bank holidays for their weddings.

We wonder if it also has to do with the fact that Meghan and Harry are planning a rather private day. Instead of opting to get married at Westminster Abbey like Will and Kate, the two will exchange vows at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle instead.

And even though the special event will be on television, a recent report has suggested that Harry wants the wedding to be totally low-key. “Pomp and pageantry is the last thing he would want. I can see him wanting to get married at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. It would stop it from turning into a total media circus and give the day a sense of privacy that Harry so badly craves,” a source previously revealed. We can’t wait for the big day, that’s for sure!
