In a new interview with the Mail on Sunday, the royal opened up about the close bond he shares with George, 3, and Charlotte, 2, revealing, “the reason I am now fifth is because of my nephew and niece and I could never wish them away. They are the most amazing things ever.”

That’s not a tear we’re wiping away from our eyes, it’s just allergies… Just as Harry has forged a close friendship with his sister-in-law Kate Middleton, he also clearly takes his role as an uncle very seriously.

Speaking about the possibility of having children of his own in the future, the Prince added, “I am determined to have a relatively normal life and if I am lucky enough to have children they can have one too. We don’t want to be just a bunch of celebrities but instead use our role for good.”

As Harry is still fifth in line to the throne — and will likely remain so unless his brother and sister-in-law welcome more children — he will have to ask permission from the Queen before getting married, as stipulated in the Royal Marriages Act (it’s worth noting, though, that the Queen has never yet formally denied a request).
