Dust off your résumés! Prince Harry‘s private secretary is leaving the royal household, and the beloved ginger-haired royal is looking for someone to take his place.

Ed Lane Fox, who has worked for Harry for five years (he joined his staff just shortly after the royal was photographed naked in Las Vegas), will step down from his post in the coming months. He watched on as the royal evolved from full-time party prince, to charity crusader, and now husband-to-be.

A spokesman for the Prince said: “His Royal Highness is hugely grateful to Ed for his hard work during a period that has seen the launch and growth of the Invictus Games, countless tours around the world, and the detailed planning for next month’s wedding.”

The spokesman continued: “Ed has led the creation of Prince Harry’s private office and the development of His Royal Highness’ work across a range of issues since leaving the Armed Forces. He has worked tirelessly, providing valued advice to Prince Harry, and leadership of a growing team.”

The royal household is currently on the hunt for a suitable replacement. The chosen applicant would be expected to run the royal’s official program, coordinate his charitable interests, travel on royal tours, and even hold the many — many — gifts, notes, and cards offered by members of the public at events such as walkabouts. And if we let our imaginations run wild… perhaps the role also includes helping the much-loved royal cook his bride-to-be a roast chicken dinner. In matching aprons, of course.

In the meantime, Samantha Cohen, who will shortly complete her tenure as assistant private secretary to Queen Elizabeth, will take the reins. The news comes at an incredibly busy time for Harry, who will marry fiancé Meghan Markle in just over three weeks. Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, will exchange vows at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19.

Around 600 people have been invited to the service, with a select 200 close friends also scoring a place at an after party at Frogmore House on the castle grounds. Of course, that’s where the royal couple took their stunning engagement photos and it’s also where they spent time together as their relationship blossomed. We can barely wait!
