Thanks to an advertisement posted on LinkedIn, we understand that the Royal Household is recruiting a new Communications Assistant to support Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The newly-engaged couple are looking for an “exceptional” person to join them on a 12-month contract starting in April. Based at Buckingham Palace, the selected candidate will be expected to “travel in the UK or overseas to support important visits and engagements.”

As part of a “fast-paced and dynamic team,” the person will “organize coverage of set-piece Palace engagements including investitures and garden parties, and provide support as required for off-site engagements.” Day-to-day duties will include press announcements and media briefing notes, social media updates, and assisting with feature articles.

While the salary is not stated in the advertisement, they do list details of the comprehensive benefits package. This includes 33 days holiday per year and a 15 percent employer contribution pension scheme.
