You learn something new every day! Prince Harry just hilariously taught us the best way to find out if a present is real is by sniffing it! When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Canada House in London on England’s Commonwealth Day on Monday, March 11, they were given a pair of cute booties for their royal baby — and Harry promptly took a whiff of the little shoes to see if they were made of real leather. Yes, seriously!

The gift also included an adorable Hop and Moo bodysuit that featured a Canadian maple leaf on the front, a hat and mittens and a pair of Manitobah Mukluks moccasins that appeared to be made of leather. But since Harry, 34, wasn’t sure what the baby booties were made of, he gave the tiny shoes a quick sniff before he explained why he smelled them. “I’m sniffing the insides to check if they are leather or not, not because they are smelly,” he joked when he was caught smelling the tiny shoes.

When the royal couple previously went on their first royal tour last October, they were given their “first baby gift” at a welcome reception at Admiralty House in Sydney, Australia. Governor General Peter Cosgrove and his wife, Lady Lynne Cosgrove, gave Harry and Meghan a cute stuffed kangaroo that Meghan, 37, instantly fell in love with.

“That’s so cute, it’s our first baby gift!” the duchess gushed while holding the plush toy in her hands. Since then, Meghan and Harry have received a lot more gifts from their friends and family, including Queen Elizabeth who apparently “can’t wait” to meet the new baby.

“She has already splashed out on adorable baby clothes and toys and is keeping a close eye on Meghan, who she’s developed a special bond with,” a source previously told Life & Style Weekly. Looks like Meghan and Harry have everything that they need to entertain little baby Sussex once their little bundle of joy arrives this spring!
