A source tells Us Weekly, “Meghan made a huge sacrifice by moving across the pond, away from her mom and friends. Marrying into the royal family isn’t anywhere near as glamorous as it seems, so in a lot of ways Harry feels responsible for Meghan being so miserable.” A source close to the Duchess of Sussex, 37, adds that Harry “takes any attack on Meghan very personally.” In fact, the insider reveals that the Duke of Sussex was even ready to make a public statement to defend his wife.
“He’s wanted to publicly make a statement many times defending Meghan and addressing the false rumors,” the source says. “But was advised not to.” Another insider adds that Harry, 34, is “definitely bothered by all the reports and speculation.” It hasn’t been an easy route for Meghan since she entered the royal family, as plenty of negative stories have been landing on the news radar. One of them is, of course, her longtime alleged rift with Kate Middleton. We recently heard the pair hasn’t even really gotten to know each other since Meghan joined the royal family.
“The bottom line is, they simply haven’t gotten to know each other,” a friend of Meghan’s recently told Heat. “They’ve hung out a bit, but Meghan and Harry’s relationship has been such a whirlwind, they haven’t spent much quality time with each other. They’re from very different worlds and don’t have much in common, other than marrying into the same family.”
Just last month, a source close to the palace told People that Harry has been looking quite unhappy lately. The insider said, “Something has changed, and no one can quite put their finger on it. He looks cross with the world.” Well, now that makes more sense, especially if Harry is peeved at how his wife has been treated.
