Prince Harry Jokes He Might Name His Potential Future Daughter After Himself

Newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still have a lot of time to decide what they want to name their baby before they welcome their first child next spring. But, in addition to Harry, 34, recently telling a royal fan that he’s hoping to have a baby girl, the Duke of Sussex has also joked that he wants to name his potential future daughter after himself.

During his first royal tour with Meghan, Harry stopped in Melbourne, Australia to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens. At the event, Harry met a new mom who introduced her five-month-old baby girl, Harriet, to the royal. And, according to Cosmopolitan, Harry cheekily replied, “That’s a great name.”

Of course Harry likes the moniker Harriet — it’s adorably similar to his own name! If he does choose to name his potential future daughter after himself, Harry and the tot would have the sweetest forever bond. But before he decides what he wants to name his child, he and Meghan reportedly have a long list of baby names to consider!

Entertainment Tonight recently revealed that Harry and Meghan, 37, haven’t officially decided on a name just yet. “We’ve been given a long list of names from everyone. We’re going to sit down and have a look at them,” Meghan told a young student on her Australian tour. If they don’t go with Harriet, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might decide to honor Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, and name their child after her.

In fact, royal fans have already started to bet which moniker Harry and Meghan will choose for their child. “At this stage, Diana, Arthur, and Alice, which was favorited at different stages for Kate and William’s babies, are the 12/1 front-runners,” bookmakers recently told the Daily Express. “However, with months until the baby is born, those odds will shorten, change, and other names will come to the forefront, so watch this space.”

Picking a name will be so hard for Meghan and Harry because both Diana and Harriet are such beautiful names. We can’t wait to see what they’ll choose!
