Prince Harry and Queen Elizabeth Join Forces for Back-To-Back Events at Buckingham Palace — See the Pics!

For his first engagement of the day, Harry met with the team captains of the ICC Cricket World Cup, which is hosted by England and Wales. The World Cup will kick off on Thursday, May 30, with the top 10 global teams competing. The participating nations include Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies — nine of which belong to the Commonwealth.

Following him meeting with the ICC Cricket World Cup team captains, Harry stepped out for a second event at Buckingham Palace alongside the queen. The duo attended Her Majesty’s third garden party of the year.

Elizabeth’s other grandchildren, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, were also present for the garden party. All four royal family members looked dazzling as they stepped out for the illustrious event.

For the shindig, Elizabeth donned a bright pink coat dress with white satin gloves and black dress shoes. She paired her stunning ensemble with a matching wide-brimmed hat adorned with pink and white flowers. The British monarch also carried a black purse in one hand, while holding a large, pink umbrella in the other.

Archie’s dad looked as handsome as ever in a fancy suit. Harry wore a black coat jacket, a creme-colored vest, white button-up dress shirt and striped gray pants. He tied the entire look together with matching black dress shoes and a top hat. Harry also carried around an umbrella in case it started to rain.

Each year, Elizabeth hosts up to three garden parties on the grounds of Buckingham Palace. She also hosts one party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland. For her first party on May 15, the queen asked son Prince Charles to step in as host. The Prince of Wales’ wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and sister, Princess Anne, were also in attendance. It wasn’t until her second garden party that Elizabeth showed up. On May 21, she was joined by Kate Middleton and Prince William.

Garden parties have been held at Buckingham Palace long before Elizabeth became queen in 1952. In fact, they were first created in the 1860s as a way to recognize and reward public service. According to the palace, around 27,000 cups of tea are served, while nearly 20,000 sandwiches and 20,000 slices of cake are consumed by attendees throughout the event. Wow!
