So Exciting!Prince George’s Parents Kate Middleton and Prince William Attend Orientation at His $8,000-Per-Term Private School

How is Prince George already going to school? We remember the day he was born!

Kensington Palace previously announced that Kate Middleton and Prince William’s son would attend Thomas’ Battersea School in London this September. And now, his proud parents have already attended orientation!

“They were there just chatting with the other parents. They seemed very sweet and normal,” a source told E! News. “George was there as well. He met his new teacher.”

“The kids went into their new classrooms for an hour to meet their new classmates and hear from their teachers,” the insider added. “During that time, the parents met the head of the school and were given a welcome talk where they were told the exact specifics of the children’s first day.”

George’s education announcement came last March. “Their Royal Highnesses are delighted to have found a school where they are confident George will have a happy and successful start to his education,” the palace said in a statement at the time.

The school is one of four family-run schools in London and despite the school boasting a location just a stone’s throw from their royal residence, William and Kate, both 35, have opted for the middle-class, southwest London branch. The $8,000 school currently has 544 day pupils, aged between four and 13.

Upholding a set of core values — kindness, courtesy, confidence, humility, and learning to be givers, not takers — the elite school holds an impressive record of senior school entrance and scholarship successes. In fact, the Tatler Schools Guide says the “cream of the Battersea crop rises to the likes of Eton and Wycombe Abbey.”

Notable alumni include singer-songwriter Florence Welch and model Cara Delevingne.

In a letter to parents of the co-educational outpost, headmasters Ben Thomas and Tobyn Thomas commented on the royal’s impending arrival back in March.

“A statement will be made today by Kensington Palace announcing that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided on Prince George’s next school,” the letter began.

“In advance of that announcement, we are delighted to let you know that they have chosen Thomas’s and that from September Prince George will be a pupil at Thomas’s Battersea,” the message continued.

“This is clearly a significant moment for their family and most certainly for Thomas’s. Like so many parents, the Duke and Duchess have put a great deal of thought into the choice of their eldest child’s first ‘big school,'” the letter read.

“The Duke and Duchess have made it clear that they do not wish Prince George’s attendance at Thomas’s to change its aims, values or ethos in any way. They would like, as far as is possible, for him to enjoy the same education that all of our pupils receive and for them to join the school community as all of our new parents do,” the message continued.

The school’s extensive grounds also include a preschool, which Princess Charlotte, 2, is expected to attend.

The much-speculated decision may surprise royal watchers, who had largely picked the three-year-old to attend the same school as his father and uncle, Prince Harry.
