It’s a… boy for Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia!

The royal couple welcomed their first baby, a son, on Tuesday, April 19, the Swedish monarchy has confirmed.

“On Tuesday April 19 at 6.25 p.m., Princess Sofia gave birth to a son at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm,” Sweden’s Royal Palace shared in a statement. “Both mother and child are in good health. Prince Carl Philip was present at the hospital throughout the birth.”

The baby — whose name has not yet been revealed — weighed 7.9 pounds and measured 19.3 inches long.

Sofia, 31, and Carl Philip, 36 — who married in a lavish royal wedding in June 2015 — previously announced they were expecting their first child last October with an official statement released by the Swedish Royal Court. “We are so happy and excited to announce that we are expecting our first child. We are very much looking forward to it,” the duo said of Sofia’s pregnancy at the time.
