It’s A Boy! Pippa Middleton Reportedly Gives Birth To First Child With Husband James Matthews

Congratulations are in order for Pippa Middleton — she’s a new mom! The 35-year-old reportedly gave birth to her first child, a baby boy, with her husband James Matthews on Monday, Oct. 15, according to multiple reports.

The Daily Mail‘s royals correspondent, Rebecca English, was allegedly the first to report the news by tweeting, “[Prince] George, [Princess] Charlotte, and [Prince] Louis have a new cousin! James and Pippa Matthews (Middleton) have had a baby boy. He was born Monday, Oct. 15 at 1:58 p.m., weighing 8 lbs and 9 oz. Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well,” English wrote on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 16.

English later returned to Twitter to write, “I saw Pippa at [Princess] Eugenie’s wedding on Friday, [Oct. 12] and she looked amazing. And then she had a baby [a] little more than 48 hours later. Those Middleton women are made of steel, I tell you!” She subsequently added, “And that is a pretty hefty little baby boy to boot!”

Pippa gave birth in West London’s famed Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, the same place her older sister, Kate Middleton, 36, previously welcomed her three children, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 5 months.

Just one day before she welcomed her baby boy, Pippa and her husband were photographed arriving at the Lindo Wing with James, 43, carrying what looked like his wife’s overnight bags. British news outlets later reported that Pippa was in labor. Mr. and Mrs. Matthews previously announced in June that they were expecting their first child and tied the knot in a lavish royal wedding in May 2017.

According to a previous Life & Style report, Pippa and her big sister, Kate, enjoyed sharing “pregnancy stories” while Pippa was expecting. “They confide in each other about everything,” an insider shared earlier this year. “When they were younger they’d always share stories about boys and school life. Now they’re sharing pregnancy stories!” We can’t wait to meet Pippa and James’ new bundle of joy — congrats again to the first-time parents!
