In the week leading up to the 2019 Golden Globes, nominee Patricia Clarkson did everything she could to feel red carpet ready — including, apparently, forgoing food! While speaking to Us Weekly after her Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television win at the Sunday, Jan. 6 event, the 59-year-old actress admitted she hadn’t eaten in 10 days before arriving at The Beverly Hilton Hotel for the annual award show.

“I’m feeling amazing. I’m good, I’m good. I’m exhausted and this [Golden Globe] weighs more than I do,” Patricia revealed at the HBO Golden Globes afterparty. “I’m not kidding you ’cause I haven’t eaten in, like, 10 days.”

When then asked what her most memorable moment from the night was, Patricia exclaimed, “A favorite moment was winning!” She added that she loved celebrating her Golden Globe honor with her Sharp Objects co-star Amy Adams, who portrayed her daughter on the HBO miniseries.

In a recent interview with Closer Weekly, Patricia also adorably revealed the special friend she celebrated her Golden Globes nomination with when she learned of the recognition in early December. “Where was I? I was home in bed with my dog,” she told us. How cute! Following her big win for portraying Adora Crellin in Sharp Objects, Patricia took the stage to sweetly thank her elderly parents for all their love and support over the years. “Hot damn. It’s a privilege to be here tonight,” Patricia began her acceptance speech. “This really is for my extraordinary mother and father. And I share this with you, mom and dad, in New Orleans. Cheers!”

So what were Patricia’s plans for after her win? “I’m gonna be bolognese-ing tomorrow. Or maybe tonight. This belt is very tight and it will just make my life miserable. So I’m gonna get through tonight, have a little more champagne — thank God I haven’t had too much — and call my mom and dad when I finish talking to you and see friends and celebrate this extraordinary man that’s my date tonight,” she told reporters in the Golden Globes pressroom on Sunday evening. Congrats again on your win, Patricia!
