Pat Boone’s Late Wife Shirley Was His Other Half! See the Longtime Couple’s Cutest Photos

Pat Boone lived a life of wedded bliss with his longtime life, Shirley Boone, for over 65 years. Although the iconic singer’s beloved spouse died in January 2019, the couple’s cutest photos over the years are a reminder of their beautiful and magical love story.

Pat and Shirley’s romance first began nearly seven decades ago. According to Taste of Country, the “Speedy Gonzales” crooner met the recording artist when they were just teenagers. At the time, Shirley’s dad, Red Foley, was known for his hit country music.

Pat and Shirley were just 19 years old when they tied the knot in 1953, but their love story lived on for longer than anyone could ever imagine. Throughout their marriage, the adorable lovebirds became the proud parents of their four daughters, Debby Boone, Linda Boone, Cherry Boone and Laurey Boone.

While juggling his new relationship, Pat found success as a Hollywood star in the late ’50s. The “Love Letters in the Sand” singer paved quite the career as an artist and actor, having released dozens of albums throughout the years and appearing in movies like 1959’s Journey to the Center of the Earth, 1962’s State Fair, 1965’s The Greatest Story Ever Told and many more.

As Pat earned his spot in Hollywood showbiz, Shirley stuck by her hubby’s side and often attended film premieres and other red carpet events with him. Sadly, the doting mom tragically died in January 2019 after a battle with vasculitis.

“We lived a wonderful, blessed life together for 65 years. I’ve parted with my better half for a little while … but we don’t die, we just move on to another place, and today was moving day,” he told People following his wife’s death. “She’s changed her address is all and moved to a different mansion that I expect to join her in one day.”

Although time has passed since Pat lost his wife, the April Love star said he talks to his longtime love “all the time.” Because he still lives in the same house the pair bought in 1960 and has no plans to move, Pat is surrounded by memories of their marriage.

“I’m living here alone with a housekeeper and my dog, a little cocker spaniel,” he exclusively shared with Closer Weekly in August. “Shadow is his name.”

While Pat joked that it’s just “[himself] and [his] shadow, all alone and feeling blue,” he insisted he’s holding up. “I’m doing fine. I mean, gosh, I miss [Shirley].”
