Though she wasn't close to the late Whitney Houston, Oprah Winfrey couldn't help but get emotional after hearing the latest update on her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown's current health condition.
When recently asked by a reporter if she had any words for the 21-year-old and the Houston family, Oprah, 61, replied, "Oh my god," while holding back tears.
"There aren't any words right now. It's a sad time, what a tragedy," she continued. "I don't believe there's any irony in the timing, it's all happening around the same time because it's just been three years [since Whitney died]."

Bobbi Kristina was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, Jan. 31 after being found unresponsive in a bathtub inside her Roswell, Ga. home.
The incident took place just days prior to the three-year anniversary of Whitney's death. The singer was similarly found unconscious in a hotel bathtub on Feb. 11, 2012 and was pronounced dead later that day, with "accidental drowning" cited as her cause of death.

Oprah additionally revealed her good friend Tyler Perry, 45, had been a close confidant to Whitney prior to her passing at age 45 and remains connected with the Houston family.
"I was not very close to Whitney, my friend Tyler was close to Whitney," she told 'TMZ.' "[He] has been really close to the family. Tyler was really supportive of Whitney when she had her troubles and he intervened and tried to help her. I know he's been instrumental in trying to help Bobbi Kristina, too."
