Oprah Dazzles at the 2025 Oscars: Presenter Steals the Show in Dolce Outfit While on Stage

Oprah Winfrey stepped into the spotlight for the 2025 Oscars as one of the star presenters slated to take the stage tonight. She wore a Dolce look.

The famed media mogul, who is a former Academy Award nominee herself, presented a tribute to Quincy Jones with Whoopi Goldberg at the event, which was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, March 2.

Several A-listers hit the red carpet for the affair, wearing their best outfits for the shindig which is to celebrate excellence in filmmaking, honoring achievements in areas such as acting, directing, cinematography and writing.

The highly anticipated ceremony was hosted by television host and comedian Conan O’Brien.

Oprah, 71, has been recognized by the academy before thanks to her captivating role of Sofia in The Color Purple in 1985. The film Selma, in which she appeared as Annie Lee Cooper, was also nominated for Best Picture in 2015.

Fans may recall Oprah’s sentimental remarks about her work in The Color Purple just two years ago.

“I can’t even begin to tell you what it means to me – a person who wanted nothing more in my life than to be in The Color Purple,” the beloved TV host shared about her experience in an interview with Essence Magazine. “God taught me to surrender – that was the big lesson for me.”

She said the hit drama, which was a massive box office success and nominated for 11 total Academy Awards, including Best Picture “is the reason I ended up owning my own show, why I learned to surrender, do the hardest work and then let that work go.”

Oprah, for her part, was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

“The Color Purple is why I created the culture at my company Harpo that I did, because I had seen at Steven Spielberg’s Amblin that you can own your own studio [and] make a family of your work,” Oprah told People in 2023. “That movie was a spiritual grounding for me.”

She described the role of Sofia as the “embodiment of self-empowerment,” noting she felt “blessed” to show it to a new generation upon the release of the 2023 musical version she coproduced, which was based on the Broadway show. “Doing the [original] film was the most important thing that had ever happened to me and continues to be a central theme in my life.”

“It’s as big a miracle as my whole life has been, because I didn’t know one single soul in the business,” the Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier author noted.

When asked about her plans for the future, Oprah replied, “Maya Angelou wrote a poem for me called ‘Continue’ … One of the most important lines is, ‘My wish for you is that you continue to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness.’ And that is what I intend to do.”

Oprah has continued to make her mark in the entertainment biz and she was even honored with the Golden Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in 2018.
