Beloved actress and singer Olivia Newton-John was first diagnosed with breast cancer back in 1992 and, since then, the star has battled cancer twice more and remained incredibly open with her fans when it comes to her health. In a new interview, the 70-year-old opened up about how she’s doing now and revealed she spent her last birthday in the hospital.

“There were all these things I was going to do for my birthday,” Olivia told People of her party plans which, unfortunately, turned into a night in the hospital. “But God had other plans.” The Grease star is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer, the third time she’s had to fight it. “I never say, ‘Why me?’ I was like, ‘Wow, I’m in my hospital that I’d dreamt of building for people to have rest and peace and there I was getting the best care.’ It was quite magical,” the actress said of her experience.

Olivia spent her birthday under care due to a cancer-induced pelvis fracture, which she has spent the last six months recovering from.

But even though she has found herself battling cancer again, it is due to the support of her husband, John Easterling, and her daughter, Chloe Rose Lattanzi, that Olivia has been able to keep her head held high. “I started on a walker, then a cane and now nothing,” Olivia said of trying to regain her strength. “Of course, I had my moments, and my tears and all that, but I have a wonderful husband who supports me through those things.” She added, “I’m feeling good, just getting stronger.”

And there’s more good news as Olivia also confessed that during a recent check-up, her doctor “was very happy with [my progress].”

“I believe I will win over it, and that’s my goal,” the Xanadu star once said of her battle, also once writing on Instagram that her dream is “to see an end to cancer in my lifetime.” We are all pulling for Olivia and hope she comes out of this experience even stronger!
