Norman Reedus and Ex Helena Christensen Share Sweet Tributes in Honor of Son Mingus’ 20th Birthday

In honor of their son Mingus Lucien Reedus‘ milestone 20th birthday, amicable exes Norman Reedus and Helena Christensen celebrated their kiddo in the sweetest way. The Walking Dead actor and his ex-girlfriend took to social media to honor him with the most heartwarming tributes.

“Happy birthday to the coolest of all time,” proud dad Norman, 50, gushed in the caption of a sweet post. Along with the birthday message, the Blade II star also shared a series of photos of him and his little man.

Norman became a dad for the first time when he and Helena — who began dating in 1998 but called it quits five years later in 2003 — welcomed their son in October 1999. The Danish model also took to Instagram to gush over her only child’s sweet celebration.

“Today is a beautiful day because you were born, 20 years ago!” the 50-year-old beauty wrote alongside a series of super cute family snapshots. “Love you so much.” In one of the pics that she shared, Helena and Norman can be seen celebrating their son’s high school graduation. Aww!

Fans of The Boondock Saints actor couldn’t help but flood his post’s comment section with sweet messages for the father-son duo. “Happy Birthday to him! Such a handsome young man like his daddy,” gushed one fan, while another echoed, “He is exactly like you!! Happy birthday Mingus!”

It seems like Norman’s birthday tribute pulled on Helena’s heartstrings considering she also took a moment to leave a comment on his page. “Our baby boy is a young man and I love him more than anything,” the proud mom lovingly wrote.

Since ending things with the professional photographer, Norman has moved on with longtime love Diane Kruger. Although the couple has yet to tie the knot, they are the proud parents of a 1-year-old little girl.

While chatting with Us Weekly this past April, Diane — who was first linked to the handsome actor in 2016 — opened up about life at home with their little bundle of joy. “He’s just very great with her,” the Troy actress, 43, admitted. “He just looks at her with unconditional love. I wish he looked at me like that!”

Diane also revealed how his son, Mingus, is playing an active role in his little sister’s life. “Nineteen years is a big gap, so he’s stepping up to be this protective big brother,” she said, adding that she’s officially “done” having kids. “I think our family is pretty much complete.”
