Another day, another reason to envy Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s blissful marriage. After gushing about each other every chance they get, the Big Little Lies star recently revealed that if she could, there is one thing she’d slightly change about their marriage — and it has everything to do with having more kids.

“We go, ‘Oh gosh, I wonder if we met when we were 25, then we could have had 10 of them!” the 51-year-old dished to People in this week’s cover story. “But Keith says, ‘Stop the wanting mind.’ It’s far better to be completely in love and satiated with what you’ve been given, what we’ve been given.”

Luckily for Nicole, being the mother to the couple’s two daughters, Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, 8, is one of her greatest blessings.

Nicole and Keith, also 51, crave the similar lifestyle with their kids that includes shying away from the Hollywood spotlight and living a quiet, peaceful life. That’s why the lovebirds live with their daughters in Nashville. “My roots are deeply embedded here [in Nashville],” the blonde beauty, who also has kids Isabella, 26, and Connor, 24, with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, dished.

Perhaps Nicole’s dream of expanding her brood with her hubby could be overlooked by the fact that their home is always bustling with Sunday and Faith’s friends. “Our house is always full of kids,” she admitted. “Sometimes we have eight kids over for dinner after school.”

But even though some days are far more hectic than others, Nicole never forgets to stop and smell the roses. “I’m so grateful,” she said of her family. Not only that, but the Moulin Rouge star is also thankful for the strong bond she shares with her country crooner husband.

However, it hasn’t always been rainbows and butterflies for the power couple. Nicole also spoke about overcoming life obstacles with her partner in crime. “Real love happens not when everything is going well but when things are going badly,” Nicole proposed. “It’s when human beings come together if they’re going to, in a far deeper way. You’re then having to work together, and the ‘together’ is what it’s about. Keith and I talk about that, because that ultimately is the definition of marriage and union and commitment.”

And the two have definitely been there for each other during the darkest times. Shortly after their 2006 nuptials, the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” singer entered rehab and has since then spoken publicly about being sober and his past addiction issues. But instead of abandoning him, Nicole never left Keith’s side.

Less than 10 years after Keith confronted his alcohol dependency, the dedicated husband and father returned the favor to Nicole after her father passed away. “Keith canceled his concert — he was about to walk onstage — and he got on a plane [to Australia],” she said. “He said, ‘This is why you have me. You don’t have to go through this alone.’ He came back that night, and I just fell into him. I was shattered.” Aww!

After all the trials and tribulations that life has to offer, Nicole feels lucky to have such a strong man by her side. And that’s exactly what she hopes for her daughters. “To see a union that is deep and real and loving, which is what Keith and I both grew up with too,” Nicole said, “is always a good thing, I think.”
