Nicole Kidman Poses for Photos on 2025 Met Gala Red Carpet Without Husband Keith Urban
Nicole Kidman looked regal and gleeful while walking the red carpet at the 2025 Met Gala. The Holland actress posed for photos at the Monday, May 5, event without her husband, Keith Urban, by her side.
After walking the carpet solo in a strapless black dress and matching gloves, she chatted with La La Anthony on the Vogue livestream about her look for the big event.
“I just wanted something very tailor-made for me,” she said about the elegant dress, which she paired with silver jewelry. “I spoke to Anna [Wintour] and she said, ‘Tailor-made, remember that is the theme: Tailor Made for You’ and this kind of was inspired in support of all of those gorgeous gorgeous dandies and the women that then honored them and supported them or protected them, so I’m happy to be here as one of them.”
“It’s lovely to just celebrate fashion and couture and tailoring, and particularly tonight the tailoring, because there’s all the people behind the scenes who do all that beautiful work, and as with when you really look at this theme dandies, it’s all about where you take a black suit and put a beautiful different button or something … where it’s completely individual and made for you which I love,” Nicole, 57, continued about her interpretation of the theme.
As for what she was excited for the most about the 2025 Met Gala, she said, “I look forward to dancing tonight.” She headed inside after sharing a little about her look. She did not mention why Keith was not there with her. The pair typically attend major red carpet events together and support each other at various outings.
Nicole and Keith, 57, previously attended the event together last year when the theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
Last year, Nicole donned a princess-style ballgown, which featured a white satin overlay and a ruffled tulle skirt. She wore her hair in long curls. Keith joined her in a black tuxedo with a white bow tie at the 2024 Met Gala. They posed together on the red carpet, with their love on full display as one of the highlights at the 2024 event.
This year, Nicole’s look was certainly something very different than her previous year’s look, and she also opted for a short bob hairstyle this year. Her blonde locks were cropped at the neck, with one piece loose in the front to swoop over her eye. She can seriously rock any hairstyle!
The pixie cut also appeared to be a darker shade of blonde than what we’re used to seeing Nicole rocking at events. One day prior to the Met Gala, Nicole was seen in videos posted on X dancing at the Charli XCX concert in Brooklyn. At the show, which is part of the singer’s Brat tour, Nicole rocked a longer blonde ponytail.
Other stars who hit the iconic red carpet during fashion’s biggest night this year included Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Angela Bassett, Jeff Goldblum, Walton Goggins, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kerry Washington, Demi Moore, Madonna and many more fashionable stars.
