Neil Patrick Harris has been inked — and for good reason!

The A-list actor recently showed off his brand new (and first-ever!) tattoo on Instagram — and shared the skin art is in honor of his popular Netflix show, A Series of Unfortunate Events!

"We got picked up for Season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I got this to celebrate. #FirstTattoo #AnkleBone #Oof #Olaf #ScampStamp @andersonluna @unfortunatetv @netflix," Neil, 43, captioned the snapshot on Monday, March 13. What a big way to celebrate a career win!

The tattoo — featured on the star's ankle — is a mystical eye, which is the symbol of the evil character he portrays in the show, Count Olaf.

In a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, Neil opened up about the process of disguising himself for his role in the successful series. "It takes about three hours to get all the stuff on, and then all day long you have to make sure it's not coming off," he explained. "So all day long someone's just poking at your face. All day. Literally, nine hours of someone between takes just [fixing your makeup.]"

And even though Neil's character is the villain in the show, he acts like a cool dad at home with his six-year-old twins, Harper and Gideon!

"I like to always do things with a tongue firmly planted in my cheek. At least with the kids," Neil said of his son and daughter, whom he welcomed with his husband, David Burtka, in October 2010. "That way, if I'm being reprimanding, or getting serious, at least I can still give them a little bit of a wink and let them know that I'm upset but not going to destroy them." We wonder how Neil's hubby and kids feel about his new tattoo!
