Anyone who’s a fan of the TV show “Murder, She Wrote” may be ecstatic or annoyed to find out that NBC plans on remaking the murder mystery series.

The reworking of the classic series, which ran for 12 seasons, is described by Deadline as a “light, contemporary procedural in the vein of “Bones” or “Fargo,” it follows a hospital administrator and amateur sleuth who self-publishes her first mystery novel…[and her] avid fascination with true crime leads her to become an active participant in the investigations.”

The good news for fans who may be worried about the reboot? Oscar winner Octavia Spencer is set to play the character made famous by Angela Lansbury.

We have a feeling that Octavia will do just fine stepping into Ms. Lansbury’s shoes. Her turn as Minny Jackson in “The Help” landed her a Best Supporting Actress statuette and she also won accolades for her work in the recent drama “Fruitvale Station.” Personally, we’d love to see Octavia on our TV’s every week!
