Congratulations are in order for Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski — they’re married! The Morning Joe co-stars tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Nov. 24, MSNBC confirmed on the morning of Monday, Nov. 26.

“It was a small, private wedding that took place Saturday at the National Archives in Washington, with the Bill of Rights and the Constitution as a backdrop,” Morning Joe guest host, Willie Geist — who is taking over for Joe, 55, and Mika, 51, this week while they’re on their honeymoon — said on today’s broadcast.

“Congressman Elijah Cummings officiated the traditional ceremony, which he and Joe wrote together. Joe and Mika were surrounded by all their children, which made it very special for them, their kids, family, and a small group of their close friends were there with them in Washington. I spoke to them last night. they’re great, they’re really happy, of course,” Willie continued.

“It was wonderful. I mean, everybody deserves happiness and they were a very happy couple,” Mike Barnacle, who was a guest at the wedding and a panelist on today’s Morning Joe show, said. “It was a nice time… and a wonderful reception.”

Vanity Fair was the first to report the news that Joe and Mika tied the knot and revealed that the bride wore a white, tea-length Milly dress with polka-dotted lace sleeves. The groom looked handsome in a Zegna suit. “We wanted it to be really small and simple and not what you expected from Mika and Joe,” Mika told the magazine of their surprise nuptials.

“Everything we do is exposed, and everything felt exposed every step of the way, so we want this to be private until it’s over. We wanted to recognize it more quietly and have the people who are most important to us around us. And you know, our show is a cocktail party every morning,” she continued.

“Not a cocktail party. A coffee. We have three hours talking to our good friends every morning,” Joe chimed in. “We made the decision a year ago to dramatically change our lives and have a low-key existence. The more time we can spend with our family, the happier we are.”

Joe’s marriage to Mika is his third. The TV star was previously hitched to Melanie Hinton from 1986 until 1999 and to Susan Waren from 2001 to 2013. Joe is a father to three kids from his two past marriages: sons Joey Scarborough and Andrew Scarborough and daughter Katherine Clark Scarborough. Mika was married to Jim Hoffer from 1993 until 2016 and shares two daughters — Carlie Hoffer and Emilie Hoffer — with her ex-husband. Congrats again to Joe and Mika on their wedding!
