Though it’s been more than 30 years since Ola Ray starred in Michael Jackson‘s iconic “Thriller” music video, the actress remembers working with the King of Pop like it was yesterday. During an exclusive new interview with Closer Weekly, Ola returned to several of the LA locations “Thriller” was filmed — and revealed she and Michael had “so much fun” making music history. Watch Ola’s interview in the video below!

First, Ola visited The Palace Theatre where she and Michael shot scenes for the beginning of the video.”[Being here] brings back memories… I felt like I was the luckiest girl in the world to have Michael singing and dancing around me while I did my little ‘Thriller’ walk,” the 57-year-old said. Next, she headed to downtown LA to Union Pacific Avenue where Michael and his troupe filmed the video’s unforgettable dance scene. “This is where I first met Michael. He had sent me a limo to pick me up that night…. I was really nervous!” Ola said.

“I had a front-row seat [to watch the dance]. They danced in front of me over and over doing that ‘Thriller’ dance all night long and I got to watch perfection. Michael just kept saying, ‘Again and again and again!’ And every time he said it,
[the dancers] just got back into place and [did their] thing,” Ola recalled. “I had no idea that it was going to be that kind of a cult-type . [Michael] would never talk to me like that, he wouldn’t boast, he was very humble.”

Ola — who beat out thousands of women to be cast in the “Thriller” film — admitted she’s always loved Michael, even before she landed her most-famous role in his music video. “I was a Michael Jackson fan before any of this went down. If you look at the video, Michael and I, we’re laughing like the whole time. We were having so much fun, we were out there playing like little kids. We were running around, he was telling me jokes. We were having two weeks of fun, every day with him — and also a little bit more,” she told Closer.

Today, she continues to adore the singer, who sadly died at age 50 in June 2009. “I have a huge poster of Michael, just of himself and then I have the 25th anniversary [Thriller] album,” she previously told ABC News. “Then, I have a picture of us walking together in the video… I see Michael every morning when I wake up.” Fans of Michael will get a treat next year when the “Thriller” film hits theaters in 3D — we can’t wait to see the music video on the big screen again!
